Bilstein Shock
While the Challenger was at the dealer having the step recall fixed a few weeks ago I noticed a pretty good sized oil spot on it's pad. I was afraid it was the hydraulic unit for the jacks. The dealer didn't have time to check it out without leaving it longer, so when we got it home I crawled under to have a look see. The left front shock had oil and debris on the lower tube and still had some oil on the lower shock mount. I was very surprised since it only has 4200 miles on it. I had moved it a few feet a few weeks before and there wasn't anything where it had set. It apparently blew a seal just setting there. After calling 7 or 8 Ford dealers and all saying they couldn't fit 38' in their shop, I finally called Ford Customer Care. Gave him all the information and he said he'd call me back within the hour. Twenty minutes he called and gave me a dealer about an hour from the house. It took three weeks to get the shock in, but finally took it over today. It was all finished about an hour later. I'm very impressed with Ford Customer Care and White Ford in Urbana, Oh. All very nice and helpful people.
