BIM 160 replace BIM 225 (white label)
Hi. I have a 2017 Thor Miramar 37.1 with a BIM 160, can you replace the BIM 160 with a BIM 225 white label for flooded acid batteries. I have four flooded acid batteries in series.
Thank you

Yes - wire for wire.

As noted above, a direct swap. I presume you are doing this because you are going to switch to Li batteries. If you are going to stick with your flooded cell batteries you can stick with the BIM 160.

I currently have 4 acid flooded batteries in series with a BIM 160. Can I do a direct replacements from a BIM 160 to a BIM 225?
Thanks
The BIM have the white label not green.

I don’t know what the green vs white labels mean. But let me repeat- you do not need the BIM 225 if you stick with the lead acid batteries. Their charging characteristics won’t pull enough current to overheat your alternator.
To be sure, do this test:
Run your lead acid batteries down to 50% SOC. With no shorepower connected, start the chassis engine and let it run at idle. After 15 minutes use an IR gun to check the alternator case temperature. If it is well below 225 F your alternator is ok. If approaching 225 let it run another 15 minutes and check again. If it is at 225 or below, you will be fine.
Only be concerned if it gets above 225 F.

The only difference between the BIM160 and the BIM 225 is that the latter can handle more current if you need it. Unless you upgrade to a higher output alternator, you do not need to upgrade to the BIM225 as long as you stay with LA batteries.

Green is lithium-compatible, white is not.

The reason I am thinking about replacing the 160. Because I have a new 225. My inverter is giving me error code e02, and e03 low and high voltage. My batteries are good.

The BIM will not caused that issue.

I'm going to suggest that you go back to your original thread and follow up there and, going forward, avoid going down rabbit holes on your own. There are experienced techs here who can competently guide you. There may also be the opposite types, so take advice with caution.

I thought it was E01 and E02?
If your batteries are good then you have bad wiring to the inverter or a bad inverter. A BIM has nothing, zero, zip, nada to do with an inverter operating off the batteries, which is what it is there for, while boondocking.
