Replacing tanklesd water heater with 6 gallon

I want to replace my Girard Tankless water heater with a Dometic DMC74FR in my 2021 Outlaw 29s.

The Girard runs through a 12v 10 amp fuse.

The documentation for the Dometic recommends running the water heater directly from the battery.

Does anyone have a Dometic 6 gallon water heater hooked up through a fuse?

If you do, what size of fuse does it run through.

Rick

Dometic recommends the water heater NOT be connected to an unfiltered converter and does recommend the water heater be battery connected. The reason is an unfiltered 12 volt converter output could damage the control board. Generally all converters use in class A coaches are filtered three stage converters. Additionally when the house batteries are connected to the charger (use/store -use or master power-on) the converter's output is biased by the batteries. My Dometic 6 gallon water heater is powered from the power centers 12 volt buss through a 15 amp fuse. Remember the fuse is there to protect the wire and not the device; thus the 18 awg wire needs a 15 fuse even though the circuit draws a a max of about 5 amps. The A/C section is powered by the power center through a 15 amp circuit breaker.

Every RV ever made has the water heater control power on a fused circuit from the power center. Generally there are other appliances on the same circuit like the furnace and fridge. Most "Appliance" fuses are 15 amp.

Wow. So further info here, it is a class C. The wire that currently goes from the tankless goes into the power center via a 18 awg wire. I do not know why a 10 amp fuse in in there unless they have a smaller awg attached to it.

If the only wire connected to that 10 amp fuse is the current water heater, then I should be able to replace the 10 amp with a 15 amp?

I cannot find a max amp draw in the installation manual.
