Black/Grey tank plumbing help

The black tank dump valve on my 2018 Freedom Elite 24FE is at a bad angle. It drags the ground just a whisker going down my driveway (steep gravel driveway) It looks like I can cut the grey and black lines (the green lines in pic) put the correct size abs collar on, rotate it so it won’t drag and glue it back up. Can it really be this easy or am I missing something?

Should be fine as long as there is sufficient room to pull the handle. Maybe even better since there will be less chance for, uhm, debris to settle in the slide mechanism.
