Black tank on 2018 ACE

We have had the Thor ACE 2018 for about and have had little issues with the black tank, like sensor, clogging....but how can u take it out for a 3 night trip (of which u were by yourself half of the day and when you used the toilet u did not flush TP) and be full when u wake on the 3rd day!!!!
We have never had so much trouble with a toilet b4..😡
Husband says the bathroom sink runs down same pipe. Does anyone know?
If it does that has to be the worst design ever!!!

The bathroom sink DOES drain to the black tank. It adds more water to the tank that needs it to flush out the contents. Most people run out of grey tank volume due to showers long before they run out of black tank volume. Putting the bathroom sink in the black tank helps even that out as well.

Our black tank sensor has never been accurate. With a complete and thorough purge I can get it to reset to empty, but it jumps to 2/3 whenever used. I know about what goes in and track usage and don’t rely on the gauge. The grey tank seems to work as advertised. It’s an electric switch which is known to fail and would be easy to replace if you could get to it. As mentioned, the grey tank is the limiting factor so I don’t really watch the black tank when off grid. The black tank with prudent usage can last my wife and I a couple weeks, the grey tank 4-5 days. Good luck.

Our bathroom sink drains to the black tank also... verified by laying under the tank with the bath sink running. IMO, it's a poor design... maybe to save Thor a few bucks in labor and materials? Who knows... In an emergency, you can bleed some gray water... not so with the black. There are even open concrete catch basins for gray "camp water" in many parks.

I ALREADY put sufficient water into the black tank to keep it "liquid". I surely don't want to needlessly add excess water to take up space in an already smallish tank. So on long trips we wash hands, etc. and brush teeth in the kitchen sink to avoid filling the black tank. That's just ridiculous!

So... there is NO EXCUSE for piping gray water to the black tank. Lazy, cheap decision! Just educate your customers and let them decide.

Keep in mind if you are truly off grid you only have 50 gallons of fresh water (at least in my 29.4). We are frugal with the bathroom sink but it has never been a problem.

Same here ... with a family of 5, we dump the black tank nearly every day. Bathroom sink is piped to the black tank.

With my prior Jayco TT, I'd dump "maybe" twice in a 6-day trip.
