door window

I have a 2018 vegas 24.1 The window on the door has a privacy piece on the inside which is held in place with a sticky substance. In Utah it gets a little hot causing the stuff to get soft and loose it's grip,so when I opened the door the privacy glass fell out. Anyone have this happen and how to fix it.

I was driving down the road on a trip in my old Outlaw 29H when a rock or something shattered the outside window of the entry door. It spyder-webbed so I duct taped over it to keep it together until I could replace. I looked everywhere and Thor was the only one who had a frameless window of that size and time.

I was going to have a glass shop make a replacement but they could not get a dark enough smoked glass for the outer window and it was going to cost almost as much as a new one from Thor.

When I received the replacement window from Thor, they had changed the way the inner privacy glass portion was installed. There were lots of people who had the mastic adhesive loosen and the privacy glass fall out.

If it were me, I would find some smoked or blacked-out plexiglass and have it cut to the size and shape of the inner privacy glass. Then I would get some clear Gorilla glue and glue it in place... permanently.

Mine fell out from the inside also but didn't break. Stuffed it with a sheet aluminum foil for a few weeks then cleaned up all the cheap, old factory adhesive and reinstalled with 3M automotive double back tape...the kind they used to use to install the badges and door trim, etc. on new cars. Hasn't fallen out again yet. You can get that stuff at a higher end auto parts store like NAPA or pay 3 times that and get it from a car dealer. It will stick anything to anything.
