Black tank dump valve won’t open

I have a new 2021 Thor Compass TW. When I de-winterized coach a couple of weeks ago before trip out west I opened black tank valve to drain anti freeze it opened but was rather hard to pull. Today at the dump station for the first time I tried to open black tank dump valve and it would not open. The handle which I believe has some sort of a cable going to the valve seemed jammed. We just got back from our trip and it’s dark so I plan on checking it out tomorrow. Any ideas on what the problem might be. The tank is about 2/3 full and other than the flushing of anti freeze this would be its 1st dump attempt. Thanks in advance.

You didn't get any quick responses, suggest you call your dealer, could be a warranty issue.

What did you today in the daylight?

Talking to dealer is a very good idea. You don't want to actually damage or break it and it be on you.

I checked under the coach today. The cable going from the black tank dump handle to the dump valve was resting on the exhaust pipe melting the plastic sheathing around the steel cable making it impossible to move. So much for quality control.

Glad you found the problem. At least it’s an easy fix.

AND a good thing that it broke in the "closed" position.
