Black Tank Flush out not working

We have had our motorhome in 3 times now to get the Black Tank Flush Outs to work, it’s a 2022 Super C, in the shop more than on the road!!

Is there a question here?

Several complaints about the backflow preventer being installed wrong and difficult to get to; but if we can diagnose it on a forum the dealer "should" be able to fix it in person.

No question, just very discouraging that three attempts so far from LA Mesa RV, with same issue, and not being fixed, just curious of anyone else with this issues and what the fix ended up being, something the average person could figure on their own instead of having your RV in for long periods of time without it getting fixed!

Sounds corny, but my goal is a continuous learning process with our MH. If there is anything I can fix myself, I do it. If I don't know how, I research the hell out of it until I DO know how. Once I figure it out, I'm better prepared to know if it's something beyond my pay grade. So far this philosophy has only required ONE trip back to the dealer for warranty work.

Thor authorized a local repair shop non dealer and I get in same day or within 1 day always fixed 100%

So what is the actual problem?

The only things that can go wrong are:

1. A bad or incorrectly installed Vacuum Breaker (usually resulting in a water leak inside the coach). The Vacuum Breaker is typically in the shower wall.

2. An operator error

The best way to use the SaniFlush system is to install a digital water flow meter on the house and fill the tank to 80 - 90% full after an initial draining to flush out remaining waster. I do this 1 - 3 times (until I don't see any debris coming out through my transparent connector hose connector).

There is just never enough pressure and coverage to think the nozzle inside the tank is going to be able to flush / clean anything on its own.

No question, Question?
Can't have it both ways.
Would really be helpful to have a full and exact explanation as to what is (or not) happening.

Black tank flushing is a waste of water.

That’s the idea…. flush out the waste.

Sorry… but I’ll conserve in other areas. Having a clean and properly working black tank is more important in my book.

I have been RVing since the 80s and my black tank has always held waste until dumped and never needed flushing.

Congratulations.....

It depends on the design of the coach, design of the black tank, placement of the toilet and whether it is filled with at least 75% of water prior to draining each time. It is also not a true septic tank.

My method of flushing, using Calgon and Dawn along with Septic Treatment has kept my tank draining properly and also prevented any odors in the coach. Also helps for long periods of storage.

He's been back...
Probably reading; but not responding.

It would be nice to know exactly what is (or isn't!) happening...

I have a similar, if not exactly the same, issue.

I have owned a Mallard in the past and I would attach the hose to the flush port, and after I dumped out the black tank, I would then leave the hose on for another 10 minutes or so with the black tank valve closed. finally I would dump again and it would be a few more gallons of water.

Now, on my 2022 Thor Omni SV34 I try the same thing. I attach the hose to the flush port, I dump out the black tank, close the black tank valve, leave the hose on for another 10 minutes or so, dump again - and nothing on the second dump. I left the hose on for an hour and tried to dump the black tank again, and nothing. There is no water going in the tank.

I met a guy with the same RV same year a few weeks ago, he reported the exact same thing.

I also brought it in to get a few warrantee items fixed last september, and they said they fixed the flush port. Now I am going to have to bring it back and ask them to test it in front of me.

Folks have reported the vacuum breaker being installed backwards. It’s documented on the forum and can be located using search.
