Well... off to order the 5200. Tried the gorilla glue shit for plumbing + flex tape. Still leaking. Now I get the fun of cleaning up the mess so I can try the next thing.
I'll listen next time lol.

Good luck with this next step of the fix!

I am just hoping that it works. Otherwise I think the next step would be to disassemble the entire drain system and rebuild it.

Cleaned back up again ... still leaking from same spot (maybe worse now? lol thanks gorilla glue).
And as you can see, gorilla glue silicon sealant was crap. Pulled right off. It says it would work for marine uses, but I am not sure I would trust it.

You're halfway home on the project...
Let us know how it looks; once the 5200 has cured.

Hopefully you can remove the silicone oil contamination sufficiently to allow the 5200 to adhere. You may need to sand, use acetone and then alcohol.

Yeah, I am going to clean it up more before applying. There is a bit of silicon still I need to scrape off and then I figured I would lightly sand both plastics, then clean it up again.

I am about 90% sure I am going to be rebuilding the connection from the grey tank to the gate valve.
As far as I can tell, the eccentric reducer should slip over the collar of the grey tank drain, but it has about about a good 1/8" to 1/4" separation and appears to be connected only by whatever sealant was gooped on when they built it (or someone else repaired it.
Just have to figure out what I can use to seal it if I replace the reducer. I am sure something has to go in there to keep it from leaking. The tricky part will be if I just replace the one side of the gate valve to get the bolt holes to line up before the ABS glue locks it in place.

just guessing, but the tank is probably some sort of PE (polyethylene)
In my experience nothing much will stick to that. Usually welded or mechanically compressed gasket as far as I've seen in PE tank fittings
Looks like the fitting is ABS

Sorry, I have no idea.... think I'd be looking searching youtube "abs fittings to RV waste tank" something like that....

Apparently either this never comes up, or no one posts their secret. I think I have googled every variation of this I can find. The closest I can find is the 3-M 5200, which came up in a couple of other posts online. I suppose if that doesn't work I'll call the shop and we just won't fill the grey tank until dump time. Just use a bucket in the sink lol.
At what point does having an RV become fun?

Don't get too discouraged: there's always a solution to the problem out there!

For better or worse, the 5200 is on there now. I suppose if this doesn't work, it will be the shop's problem and I will blame previous owner lol.

Well, it's not definite yet, but we just went out for an overnight shakedown cruise to test everything on the RV and so far it seems to be holding up. It's back in the driveway on an angle again so I'll pump some water in the grey tank and let it sit a few days and see what happens.
