Ouch on you expensive diy lesson.
I was lucky 5 decades ago (thanks to DW aka "sweet ums") I learned to take a breath, study the situation for a few, then start testing
DW met me at the door purse in hand, just like her mother I'm sure. Said "the dryer broke let's go
."
Something inspired me to say "hold on a sec, let's take a look"
After a couple of minutes I found the drive belt had broken on our new to us dryer.
Next day a trip to Sears (no Home Depot, Amazon in 1969
) for a new belt saved us some big $$'s
we didn't have.
Fast forward 50yrs, a little testing discovered that the driver end of 1 of slides wasn't moving, a little looking (very lucky it wasn't the other end of the other slide
) I found the cable to the motor was damaged
. A little solder and heat shrink fixed it
Now we have access to the best trouble clearing procedure EVER!!!
Step 1. Has this ever happened to anyone else... yes = internet, no = ouch
I'm going to guess it was your cable or controller that broke
note: some early responses are a little ruff on this forum, hope this isn't mistaken for one of those
