brand new Entegra Emblem and slide out not retracting

sitting in a campground ( Pipestem State Park, WV ) on my way back home from Salt Lake City where I purchased my brand new Emblem. Guess what - living room slide is not coming in WTF - called roadside assistance from Entegra and was told they will try to find a mobile technician ( that was 2 hours ago - never heard back from them ). They would cover miles and labor but not the parts !! Hello ?? This rig is 7 days old and you are not paying for the parts ?? What is my warranty good for ??

Anyway - does anybody have an idea how I can reset the system on an 2021 Emblem ? It does not have that Schwintek computer like my old Thor had

Thanks

just got a call from Entegra. They cannot find a technician who is willing/able to come out here

so, our next step will be a sign on the rig

FOR SALE

We are occupying a campsite which is reserved for somebody else as of tomorrow - he is going to be happy

I was hoping, I bought quality and my never ending problems with my Thor Freedom Traveler are over .......

Sorry to see that you're having trouble...
Have you found the slide controller? If it's blinking: it's giving off a code...
Can you tell us what you see?

I don't think it has a slide controller like my old Schwintek system. This one only has one motor and I can't see any controller

I don't know what the combination is for your Entegra, but have you verified you meet all the slide interlocks. Like on some Thors the slide won't move with the key in the ignition.

Second - Have you verified power to the slide control system? Have you followed the troubleshooting procedure in the slide control manual that should have been included with your new rig?

Third - Have you called the slide controller manufacturer for assistance?

the slide is moving. The front part moves, on the back part only the lower part moves. To me it looks like if the upper part is stocked as this part does not move at all and after the rest moved about an inch, everything stops and it does make noises when trying to move

Well, that's different info than a bare "slide is not coming in".

It looks like the LR slide is on a moving platform. From what I can see there are no tracks at the top (maybe inside) so it would seem the upper rear corner is jammed.

I would manually raise the driver rear side of the coach a little and see if that frees it.

Tried it but the upper rear part of the slide out does not move. It is stocked for some reason

I would try to find a ladder and look at the top of the slide on the outside and also look on the inside of the slide at the top. It is alway possible some contruction debris or even a lost screw driver was rolling around up there after manufacturing and now it is jamming the slide.

The other thing can be torque on the wall causing it to bind. I have seen coaches slightly shift as the jacks sink into the ground of the base is not solid. I had that happen once on my Outlaw 29H. I tried to retract the slide in the moring after it raid overnigh and the slide would go in an inch and stop and bind. I could not get it to come back in so I manually adjusted the levelers and then I was able to retract the slide and never had an issue with it again.

I found a mobile RV service by my own after Entegra Road Assistance was unable to sent somebody out today. He lifted the right hand side a little and it came back in. We extended it again and the same issue - not moving. We lifted it up again, moved it in and I will call General RV in VA tomorrow to get an appointment for warranty repair. Hopefully within the next days and not months

Thanks for your help

I have zero confidence in most RV dealers...... however, I purchased my 2020 Magnitude from General RV in Canton, OH. I was getting ready to fly to Texas to purchase from Motorhome Specialists but General RV matched the price and I went with them because they have locations in 6 states and they have their "Keep You Camping" Guarantee.

I have not used it yet but if you purchased from them and you have an issue that prevents you from using the coach, you can stop at a General RV location the same day and they will diagnose the problem while you wait. If they do not have the parts necessary (which is highly likely since dealers stock minimal parts inventory), they will order the parts and schedule your repair.

Slide-outs not functioning are on the list of repairs.

Camping Critical, which includes slides, are same day no appointment necessary. These are the only things they are now doing that are considered "Customer Waiting". I sent you a PM with the name of the service advisor you should talk to about your rig.

Thanks for the hint. Pretty useless for me as it is impossible to get General RV in Ashland on the phone. I left countless voice mails - they don't bother to return my calls. I finally talked to Nikki and she couldn't find my RV in her computer and promised to call back within an hour - never happened. I am frustrated. I don't want to drive there without an appointement as it is 150mls one way - that is a lot if they sent me home because they don't have any parts, time or whatever

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

Yeah it's frustrating dealing with repairs on a new coach. Tell Thor you want the OK to get a local repair guy yourself to fix your issue. Then call whoever you want and pay whatever they want to fix it. Other campers and campground operators will know who to call. Send the receipts to Thor and they will pay you back in 30 days. Don't sweat this stuff. Enjoy your RV life, know crap is going to happen. Just pay and enjoy your day.

DogLovers..small stuff? I don't think so...:-)...I don't take a breath every time I bring my slide in...but you are right, that things WILL go wrong and you have to be ready to count to 10 (or 100 in my case)...it's taken me 6+ months of ownership to 'not' get overly wound up with the absolute crap that Thor and their brethren turn out...having been in the motor trade for 50 years and being involved in developing accountability as a manufacturer and it is my estimation that the RV industry will have about 30+ more years building similar crap transitioning to a moderate level of dependability...a new ICE may not be available at that time and this will happen only if some organized body takes them to task as Nader and Power did to the American motor industry...
Thank you, I feel better now...can't wait to get into my next RV trip!...ciao for now!
