Hey nautiquecowboy,

I apologise for the few Woodpecker heads we got in here. You know everywhere you go there is at least one. Some old people just can't resist telling others they are dumb and how they are really really smart and know everything, including how to point out anything they perceived wrong in someone else.

Broke again

This is an update to my problems. With my Thor axis We didn't find anything wrong. We disconnected everything even the connections to the converter. And when we put it all back together it worked. Electrical is beyond me we're taking a trip this weekend to the Coast We'll see what happens then. Thanks for everyone help. Now I have a battery load tester. Which is a plus. I'll keep all my friends on here informed again Thank you so much.

Going back to your windshield question -- in the 2014 and 2015 Axis/Vegas there was a problem with windshield cracking. The windshield in these model years had some very complex curves. I talked to a Thor technician at the Hershey RV show in 2016 and he told me that when they were using the large windshields (pre-2016 model year) the installation had to be "perfect" otherwise the mount points would induce asymmetrical stress into the glass as the body shifted. It was this asymmetrical stress that was causing the cracks.

In 2015 (around Thanksgiving) I took my new 2015 Vegas 24.1 that I had bought in Aug 2015 into my dealer (General RV Tampa) for an oil change. When the service technician came out to check over the RV before is went into the shop, we discovered the windshield had cracked right at driver eye level and was L shaped coming about 6" in from the A pillar and migrating all the way down to the bottom of the windshield. It cracked just sitting in the lot after I had driven over to the dealer.

Thor replaced the windshield under warranty. My dealer said they had a sub-contractor come in to do all their glass and they were especially knowledgeable of the problem with the large Thor windshields and the criticality of installing them so that asymmetrical stress was mitigated. I've not had any problems with the new windshield they installed.

I'm surprised the OP had a problem with a 2016 model year, and was really surprised he was on his 4th windshield.

Here is a picture of what the stress crack looked like in my 2015 Vegas 24.1 that I described in my previous post.

Yes, sir. Mr Bevedfelker First of all let me thank you for all the trouble you went through that manual is been helpful countless times. Yes, sir. I thought the problem have been solved by the 2016 with smaller windshield As mine was one of the first after they made the change. No chips literally just cracked sitting still. . The two places I contacted to have it replace said they were very familiar with that model as they had already done several. Well, I'm on my third. I think this may be the good one.
