Broken headlight lens

Just discovered passenger side middle headlight lens was broken. Must have happen on recent trip this week. I filled out form on Thor site asking about a replacement, but wondered if there is another place to order from as stuff from Thor or the dealer near them is kinda pricey?
Thanks for info.

Those come pre-assembled by the thousands from the supplier Thor uses...who knows. Try removing the entire assembly and see if there are an ID marks as to who manufactured it. You may also be able to remove the single unit that broke and carry it to a NAPA or other higher end parts house like Summit. Most everything these days has some type of markings on it.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on Thor to answer. I'm still waiting on the answer from my June of 2018 request for a replacement LED for the front of my Hurricane. As someone else said, take it apart and look for identifying numbers and then search the web. Chances are you will find either the exact component or a match that will suffice. That's what I did for the LED and found them so cheap I bought a good supply for future use.

It won't be nonstandard.
If you measure the Diameter and punch:
'3"projector headlight' (use your measurement and not my guess)
Into amazon, you can take your pick of a hundred more modern and effective replacements.

Replace both sides with like diameters and stop searching for the needle Ina hay stack if it doesn't pop up on the first few pages.

(buy three while your at it so you'll have a replacement next time.)

Cut your now non matching lamp into the back bumper and tie it to your back up lights.

These motorhomes are never going to be collectable. Keeping it stock and dealiing with Thor if you can instead deal with Amazon is just wasting everyone's time.

Per Ed Felker's Axis/Vegas manual, one owner got a replacement form KaperII. Not sure if they have what you need, but they may have it or can be of help.

Thanks for the replies. Found one on ebay for $40 del. It comes as a unit and can't buy just the lens.
Removing it was interesting. Installation should be a little easier now that it is apparent how it mounts and adjust.

Some posted here are h11 bulbs and some are h9 bulbs.
One is not like the other.
It's why I suggested getting a pair of them.

So do we know which is correct, h9 or h11?

The bulbs are not really interchangeable, one of the metal tabs and the socket needs tweeked pretty hard on an h11 to fit an h9 socket that's to the lens. You'll need to trim a tab out of the plug end of the bulb to get an h9 to fit an h11 pigtail and trim some depth off the neck to get it to focus a beam from the reflector.

So... You might wind up with two different lights, modification of the bulb and two different colors, yellow and blue white, of light throwing two different patterns.

Just stupid stuff I know from setting up off road and dive lights back when bulbs were exxxpppennnsivvve. And housings were worse.

(I don't have a Vegas, I'm just looking out for those who don't know 9 from 11.(it's 2)

Good info Duck. I should have paid more attention. Looks like I will have to get a compatible led for the H11 socket. Thanks for the heads up.

I recently changed out my standard halogen bulb to LED.
Many of the LED bulbs are H9 or H11 compatible.
That is, the configuration of the tabs on the bulb makes it so they fit in both/either sockets.
I ordered my LEDs from Amazon, huge (almost overwhelming) selection.

Update

Was able to get over to RV storage and retrieve the H9 replacement LED bulb or unit that I had installed a couple of years ago. Not sure the LED's are bulbs. More like an assy.

The H9 lugs on the LED seem to fit good in the new 90mm headlight unit H11 socket. Haven't installed it yet since the weather here is a little wet. May get around to it tomorrow if dry.
Thanks again Duck for calling that to my attention.

Had Similar Problem

Hi,

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the breaker. For us it is a double breaker that is not available everywhere. I think I ordered my on Amazon.

I hope this helps!

Thanks
Rob

A little more info

Just found a pdf for the 90mm headlights on the Vegas and other coaches. It shows the various assy's etc. Not sure why it is in foreign languages, but the illustrations are straight forward. May help if you are unlucky enough to have a headlight busted. Not much room in there to work. The adjusting screws that hold the light in place snap in and out. Took me awhile to figure that out. The illustrations call it "Click" instead of snap.
