Broken TV Antennae

I had to replace the Winegard TV antennae. The knob that turns the antennae quit working. Turns out the bottom of the antennae broke off. Decided against taking it to the dealer for warranty as it costs me $50.00 and loss of use for each warranty trip. Emailed customer support at Winegard and they wouldn't honor any warranty claim. I bought a new unit on Amazon and replaced it in an hour or so. Glad I did. Turns out Thor used no butyl tape between the antennae head and the roof. Only a couple of beads of dicor. The front of the factory installed antennae was also oriented to the right rear of the roof and the coax connectors were loose. Before new antennae I got 14 over the air channels, now I get 37.

Glad to hear that this turned so well for you!
It cost you some money and time: but it's done right, and you improved how it worked...

Same thing happened to our antenna on our 2018 29m, found out when we stopped getting any channels and I removed the antenna.

Once the bottom plastic had broken it allowed the antenna to turn far enough to break the very thin coax inside the antenna mast, all this happened because the antenna was mounted off center to the knob inside the rv, so it created a lot of pressure on the plastic flanges when turning the antenna.
