bulb for "porch" light

I need a suggestion for a particular LED bulb for the porch light. I replaced my 'white' incandescent a while back with an amber led but it is far too dim. Now it's more like decoration...doesn't even light the ground.

I'd like to find an an amber LED that is significantly brighter. Not so that it blinds my neighbors but enough to light up the immediate area by the door enough to see what a person looks like it the light.

It's an 1156 type bayonet base

It is the amount of "lumens" you are interested in, the brightness.

Take a look at these, good reviews from RV'ers

https://www.amazon.com/AMAZENAR-2-Pa...+led+1156+bulb

These have 600 lumens, lots of brighter ones on Amazon.

thanks abjbrtd
I'll read through those reviews later. It looks almost identical to the one I have. There's one more row of chips around the side on that one, but many less on the top. Maybe the chips are larger or brighter...

Sadly, I don't know how many lumens mine is supposed to be so I have no way of knowing the relative difference. I guess that's part of my question...how many lumens is required for a decent patio light?

I think there is a bit more than just lumens to this question I think, so that's why I was asking for a specific bulb suggestion.

Anyway, I'll read the amazon reviews. maybe that one i what I need...
thanks

Info for your research.

I have the white version of these for backup lights in our car, 900 lumens each...They are VERY bright!

I have these in the car for turn lights. A little brighter (not much) than the halogen bulbs they replaced. These are "Canbus" bulbs (resistor) so they use as much electricity and make as much heat as halogen

All the amber leds' I've used are very yellow.

Here's the bulb I have in my porch light... Every bit as bright as the original incandescent - likely brighter.
It is white rather than amber.

Been using it for 4 years.
