A/C cover or not?

Some of my non rv friends asked why I didn't cover my roof ac unit and I have no idea if a cover is worth the investment. We just had a record snow storm for our area of 15 or so inches but mostly just rains around here at 2100 ft in the Sierra Foothills.
So the question is cover or no and brand models? How would the gurus vote?

Both my A/Cs have covers on them. Or did you want to buy a cover for the A/C cover?

You’re speaking of a fabric cover/protector to cover/protect the plastic AC cover, correct???
When you have the unit parked in the elements in the off season you want to protect the plastic AC cover?

My entire rig is under hard cover on my property 24/7 when we aren’t traveling or using the RV.
So, personally, I do not need any additional covers/protectors.

We have a cover on the whole motorhome, so the A/C is covered.

Like taylorbob, I store under cover in a pole barn so the whole thing gets protected from most of the elements. But check the price of the shroud for the air conditioner and decide if a cloth or vinyl cover is worth the expense. Anytime you can prevent the elements from getting to the RV or parts of the RV it's a good thing. But also a cost vs benefit thing.

Same for me. The RV is covered including AC unit - with the exception of one 100 watt solar panel, which keeps the house and coach batteries fully charged.

Guess I needed to be a bit more specific and yes I meant a fabric add on cover for off season while parked. Not sure our budget will allow us to have a permanent covered parking structure so our rig will likely be exposed to half a day of sun and elements most days.
I suppose all the plastic up top will benefit from a sun blocking cover of some sort just wondered if the a/c unit in paticular needed covering. Our last rig was a 80s vintage cabover with a swamp cooler for reference. I know plastic tends to get brittle with long term uv light so it makes sense to prolong life by covering. Just my thinking is all.
Then again there's that climb up top to install / remove . Humm. Seems I might have answered my own post. Who knew?

Wink Are your covers covered?

Now I only have the one A/C unit and it has a cover but I hear that the cover needs a cover??
My two roof vents each has the MaxxAir style cover over them, so I now need covers for them??
Then there is the shower skylight, now it does not have a cover, I will need to order one, so who knows of a good brand? I would prefer clear as to not defeat the purpose of the original 'skylight' and so now I will need to search out a cover for that cover, eh?
