A/C Duct Imbalance

Hi All,

We just purchased a 2016 Thor Vegas 25.2. Noticed that the ceiling A/C ducts have vastly different air volume. The passenger side has lots, the drivers side has very little. Dump valves on ceiling unit closed and the filters are clean. Is this normal for these units or do I need to scope the ducts for blockage?

Thanks!
Jay

Ok, I figured it out. Found an old thread from 2016 about the separator baffle that can get out of position. My was well out of position letting part of the out flow bypass right back into the intake. Put it in correctly and then sealed with aluminum duct tape.

That didn't completely fix it, so while the ceiling cover was off, I scoped the ducts and found Styrofoam chunks. See poor pic. Removed them with some flexible wire fishing rods and a trash bag.

Both Driver and Passenger flows seem about even, but will now need to vacuum the MH from all the Styrofoam bits that blew out when I disturbed things.

Might check for blockage. Also check that the foam separator is in the correct place. Separates hot & cold air. Me and other have also installed the RV Air in the plenum. Increases flow and eliminates the dump ducts

Ducts flowing real good now. Unit cooled down from the mid-80s fast. There is a bit of a weird extra hum coming out of the roof unit. Need to pull the cover and look at the fan blades and compressor mounts. Hope the unit is not going bad. I can't check until I get a ladder. No ladder on a 25.2 with that rear slide so I need to buy one. Probably a telescoping one to carry.
