A/C not working on generator

2016 Thor Tuscany 40gq. I am new to this vehicle. The A/C is not running even on generator. There is a passive solar on the roof but i think that’s just to passive charge batteries I’m thinking its a fuse somewhere. Any suggestions?

When you say AC (A/C) I assume you mean Air Conditioner?
The proper abbreviation for Air Conditioning is A/C so as not to confuse with main plug-in or generator power AC.

When you say "even on generator", but then say it works on SP I assume it only does NOT WORK on generator?

What else does not work when running the generator? Microwave? Outlets?

Don't you have two air conditioner units? Do they both not work or just one?

Did it work before? And now this is a new problem? Or did it not work when you bought the RV last month?

Like ACE posted, if nothing is powered when running the generator check the breaker on the generator itself.

Yes. A/C air conditioner. They won’t run on the built in generator. I plugged into a 50 amp external generator and it works fine. It’s a 2 a/c unit with an added third a/c.

Everything else works with the built in generator And when the generator is off, the fridge and microwave work on battery until that is depleted. They both worked on generator the last time we were out a month ago.

Outlets also work on built in generator.

So all 3 A/Cs work on SP.

But none work on generator.

But all other 120 VAC appliances and outlets work on generator?

I feel like we're missing something here. Turn off your inverter and run the generator and see if the fridge and outlets and microwave work. If NOT, check the generator output breakers located on the generator.

I think i got it figured out. First off, thank you for your responses. I truly appreciate the community here and how helpful people are. Especially with a lot of new RVers entering the community (myself included). It’s nice to find help without condescending comments.

After watching a few hours of YouTube videos i located the generator circuit breaker and re-set it. Now everything working fine on the RV generator.

Apparently what was working (microwave/refrigerator) was running on battery power and i didn’t realize it.

I feel like the salesman and “walk thru” mechanic did a piss-poor job of explaining things. I videos the entire walk thru and have found more answers on YouTube. Anyway…thank you again for your responses and helping make us feel welcome in the community and not shunned for not already knowing stuff.

Respectfully

Lester
