CAB AC evaporator

Hello to all, this may have been discussed at sometime but here goes.
I have a Thor 2012 ACE, recently had the cab AC unit repaired.
I believe the evaporator is not recieving efficient air flow across the evaporator preventing this unit from performing as effective as it could.
Has anyone installed a fan with a thermostat to increase air flow across the evaporator? And if so what did you do and how did it work.

Thanks to all.

Jeff van

Ummmm, the fan control on your dash blows air through the evaporator at the speed you run it.

Yes the controls inside work fine, it appears there is excess heat in the front behind the grill. I believe this is having an adverse affect on how well the AC works due to poor air circulation over the condenser within this area.
I felt a electric radiator type fan could assist in providing better air flow over or through the condenser in this area hence providing better AC performance.

You can do that if you want but I would have the pressures checked first. Too low or too much freon results in warmer air coming from the evaporator. You said you had the system repaired but not what or why it was done. System contamination will also cause poor cooling.

The compressor failed and they said it had 3 leaks.
Ford stated they repaired the leaks and had to evacuate the system 3 times before they fixed all the leaks.ford stated they put the system in a vacuum overnight to assure they fixed all the leaks.
It appears to work great on cooler days.
My primary issue is on the warmer days the system doesn't seem to cool down as much or very fast, it can take as much as 30 to 60 minutes of driving before it cools down and at that it's not the same as the on the cooler ambient temperatures outside.
I just find it odd

Taking that long to cool, is not normal behavior for any AC, at least not any that I have had. It sounds like a low Freon condition. You probably should find another AC shop and have them check hi and low pressures with a gauge kit.

Hi I just checked my parked 2013 ACE 30.1 dash air with a dial analog thermometer and after 10 minutes of engine idling; max A/C setting; min temp setting; coach in full mid day sun (ambient outside air is currently about 87F) and coach was closed up on the driveway prior to this test (so inside temps at least or higher than ambient outside). I was reading 55F air outflow at the dash air vents. I don't know if that is normal but I would assume that if we were actually driving and used a longer temp test period, the vent temp would be lower.

I will get my digital gauge out and check later once camping world finishes repairing my slide and generator service.
And will provide more details
