Cable tv

We are at grays point campground and my cable tv won’t work.
They checked the cable and there is working cable to my ace 29.3.
I have scanned a dozen times and no channels come in.
Does anyone know why ?

Did you turn off the OTA antenna amplifier?

I agree and make sure when you are scanning that you are scanning for cable and not the antennae.

What about the splitter HDMI box, make sure its plugged in and the connections on the back
of the TV are solid. Do you have two TV`s and if you do, try the channel scan on the other one.

Don’t have a splitter box .
Cable comes out of wall and connects directly to tv.
Have tried both tv no luck.
I’m baffled worked fine 3 weeks ago.

Borrow a long coax cable and hook it to the post at the CG and then directly into the TV coax input , you may have a faulty internal coax cable or connector.
This stuff is a pain when it does not work when it should

What year ACE? Do you have Seiki TVs that only have analog tuners and no digital QAM tuners? They won't work with digital cable systems. Common issue with pre-2018 Seiki TVs.

Or, you have a loose connection at the splitter/power injector where the amplifier switch is (take the plate off the wall) or behind your outside cable connection.

This is typically the issue with Cable TV in a THOR, lack of a QAM Tuner on a cheap SEIKI TV.
So, if you have one of the non-QAM Tuner TVs, you are out of luck.

But if you have a smart tv, as suggested above, you need to connect directly from outside campground cable to a TV to ensure that the outside cable actually works.

A "Smart" TV has nothing to do with the cable input. It just means the TV is capable of connecting to the Internet either via Wireless or Ethernet cable and communicate with streaming services directly or through Apps on the TV.

My Thor Suckie TVs are all pre-2018 and I have no issue getting cable reception. I did find over time my coaxial connections will loosen and have to be re-tightened. But no worries those $89 Chinese TVs will crap out in just a couple of years leaving you the option to upgrade to smart TVs. We have either Fire Sticks or Fire ready TVs as we dumped our cable at home and use internet tv exclusively. Just had a Fire Stick delivered to my camp site two days ago as the place were staying has no cable and no antenna reception.

If you're planning on using the Fire stick with park wifi you may still not have tv, most of the parks we've stayed at had very limited wifi which wasn't enough to stream an entire movie or they recommended not doing in their rules.

ok, you mis understood me. but that's ok.

if you have a newer model, retail tv that has all the bells and whistles...99% sure it's got a QAM tuner.

The GOOGLE says...
"The majority of the following manufacturers televisions come equipped with a QAM tuner: Sharp, Sony, Polaroid, Toshiba, Emerson, Hitachi, LG, Samsung, Visio, Insignia and TCL.
The following are known to produce televisions that do not come equipped with a QAM tuner: Seiki, Element, Sceptre, HiSense, Proscan, RCA."

So stay away from these cheap brands: Seiki, Element, Sceptre, HiSense, Proscan, RCA

Gotta figure THOR paid $25 or less per TV.
Delivered by the pallet from Wuhan China.

I have a Verizon MiFi and a phone hotspot on T-Mobile so I get awesome coverage. Agreed tho most campground WiFi is very slow.

Our main is a Sucki and so are the two in the bunks with built in DVD players. My daughter will complain when those inevitably crap out as she likes the DVD player in them. 2 of the 3 large TVs have been replaced already. The main will likely go in a few weeks.
