Canopy folding cover stops working and blows a fuse

My fold out cover in our Thor Citation stopped mid way and also blew a fuse. There are two wires inside of the arm running closest to the door, one black and one red. These are loose and move around easily. The black one was pinched by the metal arm coming down causing a short and blowing the fuse. I was able to pry it loose and felt lucky that it didn't get cut in two, but the same thing has happened again so none one of us does the switch and the other one keeps the two wires held out of the way. If someone has a fix please let me know

Maybe an ultraviolet proof zap strap or an adhesive cable tie would work. Not sure the adhesive would last in the elements though.

Lowes/Home depot have these same things (we call them sticky backs). Natural or Black. The Black ones are for outdoors, UV resistant. You can add a fastener through the sticky back, if the adhesive is unreliable.
