Thank you for explaining - too bad, but makes perfect sense now.

I guess not such an issue if the dealer is nearby, but if not, this can become challenging.

Bolted or Rivet

How many people have bolted carefree awnings? My awning was riveted on and what a disaster. 4th repair issue so far.

If the door wouldn’t have been open it would have hit my wife as she was walking out.

Mine are lagged into a steel plate that spans two aluminum wall studs. I visited the factory before I bought my coach and saw how Thor MC Plant 750 put the coach together. The slide toppers are mounted the same way.

Slide

Originally my slide was also riveted but the day I went to pick it up on the delivery date that created a problem, so it was a straight run to Thor factory to have extended on through bolts put on. I wish they would have done the awning at the same time.

Mine came with the lag bolts. They look a little crooked. Also have sealant under them . Seem to be fine.

My 30 year tech said to us..if a little crooked leave them along. The ones that backed out, he put new bolts in.

fuse location

Could anyone tell me where the fuse is for the patio awning? Is it in the fuse panel under the bed ?

Check to see if there is 12 volts to the Direct Response Module. The module should be powered any time the use/store (master power) switch is on.

Awning not working

Thankyou
My rig is a 2016 Thor Ace 30.1. First the overhead bunk stopped working and then i realized that the awning is not working also. I`m wondering if these are both on the same circuit therfore wondering about the fuse location

On my coach, fuse 15 in the power center is labeled "power awning". All three slide controllers are wired through the same 30 amp fuse labeled "slides"

Got to Thor Motor Coach Owners Manuals. Look up and down load all your manuals. In it you should find all the wiring diagrams, fuses, plumbing, etc.. Your answer should be in the documentation.

When the bunk stops working, it should give a code as to what motor. It may even be as simple as a connector pulling loose. Mine was.

That link to "Owners Manuals" is next to worthless.

I think you meant for the OP to go to the Thor Owners Resource page at:
https://www.thormotorcoach.com/owner-resource/

creat an account with their VIN, and then get access to the diagrams and component owners manuals for their particular RV.
