Chassis Lubrication

I know I have seen threads about this before, but I was wondering what I need to do the chassis lube. Our Hurricane 29M is 2 years old, so that makes the chassis 3 years old already. I change the oil myself but am a little concerned the chassis has not yet been lubricated. If I remember correctly the owner's manual has a diagram showing all the lubrication points. What sort of grease gun and grease do I need to get the job done?

I own a 14 oz grease gun but rarely use it as a home mechanic. I prefer the smaller 3 oz cartridge gun especially on my back under a vehicle, it's easier to maneuver. Something like this:

To me, you have grease, and marine grease. Since finding marine grease years ago it's the only thing I buy, works great in non-marine applications as well and since it: "Provides rust and corrosion protection in both fresh water and salt water environments" which pretty much describes the bottom of a vehicle, it is the only grease I buy anymore.

What does your owner's manual say for frequency of lubrication under the service schedule?

I grease mine every oil change. I use lithium based grease in a pistol grip large gun. I use same on everthing that has chassis fittings. For u joints and bearing like mower deck have another gun with general purpose grease.

Owner's Manual says inspect every 15,000 miles and lubricate if equipped with grease fittings. I was just wondering what others do.

Also I do not have a pneumatic grease gun. How difficult and time consuming is this job?

Thanks. I ordered these off Amazon. Question...how difficult and time consuming do you find this job to be?

Easy to do if you're experienced in greasing with a gun and grease fittings.
5 to 10 minutes of prep work which for me is using the front levelers to lift the MH higher and finding my creeper. 5 to 10 minutes to clean the zerks and grease them up.

Not as easy as doing cars on a lift but certainly not difficult.

My method for years has been extremely easy and not overly time consuming.

I just tell the Service Advisor I want an LOF Service. I can also get it done at any Speedco while Iím on the road.

Unfortunately my experience greasing things like this was decades ago, but I am sure it will come back to me. I read someone on another forum say he was unable to do it without a pneumatic grease gun. I don't see why these fittings should be so difficult to lubricate.

Easy to do, 5 to 10 minutes.

I grease the fittings while the oil is draining out of the pan. I installed he fumoto valve during the first oil change. It takes a while for the oil to come out. Smaller opening with the valve.

Hardest part is finding the zerk fittings. I bring a roll of paper towels and bucket for trash. Get on my back with the diagram and start greasing. Number 7 fitting is the hardest. You can't get to it with the wheels straight

I tried the small 3" grease tubes and gun. Didn't like it. Went back to full size

1 - Fumoto valve has nothing to do with the thread topic (greasing)
2 - Fumoto valves don't connect to fill bottles - they replace the oil drain plug on your engine drain pan

You also don't want to forget about repacking the front wheel bearings. Ford told me to do that at least every 50k!!!! Bob
