No Hot Water Flow

Hoping someone here can help solve my hot water problem. We are out in our 2017 Challenger for the first time since the big Texas freeze last month. Everything with the RV seems fine, except that I have no water flow from any of the hot water faucets, including the hot water low point drain in the wet bay. The water heater is functioning and if I open the pressure relief valve on the water heater, hot water comes out. But, nothing at the shower, both lavatories, the kitchen or the outdoor shower. Plenty of flow on the cold water side.

I didn’t winterize during the freeze, but I did run the furnace continuously to keep the coach from freezing. And, I drained the fresh water tank and both the cold and hot water low point drains.

Any suggestions on what may be going on?

Given what you said about not winterizing and there is hot water in the heater itself, and you don't have hot water flowing from some point under your coach or inside on the floor, then my best guess is the hot water valve fairy snuck in to your coach during the freeze and turned the output valve on the water heater. Check the position of the valves.

Water heater check valve blocked with calcium chunks possibly. Maybe drain water heater remove pressure relief valve pour 4/5 gallons of vinegar and 4/5 gallons water through opening let sit 4or 5 hrs then drain, see if chunks come out.

I’m thinking you’re right about the calcium chunks. I removed an access panel inside of one of my cabinets to gain access to the back side of the water heater. I was handling the pex piping and other hoses to try to figure out how the heater was plumbed. I was about to give up, but then tried running the hot water in the kitchen again and all of a sudden I had hot water again. The only thing I can figure out is that moving/jiggling the plumbing lines must have dislodged the clog.

Anyway, we’re back in business. Thanks for the replies.

The water heater check valve is a very small opening most likely spot for chunks to plug not expensive part not that hard to do yourself
