Have a Freedom Elite.Hot water heater works if on LP and electric together. Doesn't work on just electric or just gas by themselves.Any ideas whats wrong?

My freedom elite (2017 26he) is the same way. Mine doesn't heat the water with electric. Only Gas but it takes electric to make the hot water heater turn on.

I know the next size up freedom elite from mine could head with electric or gas. You sure you have that option?

water heater

Thanks for your response. We have the 29 ft .If I have that option I dont know about it.I know it doesnt heat on electric alone. To this uninformed owner, pressing a button that says 'electric heat' I would think it would heat on electric. Thanks again .

12v supply to the control board as in a dead coach battery. Disconnect 30amp service, then check coach battery. When you are connected to 30amp service, the converter is supplying the 12v needed to ignite the water heater on gas and of course while connected, assuming breaker is good, the heater works on electric as well.

Either you can go on with the battery replacement, or else you should contact a professional for repairing your water heater. I read the blog about Electricians Devault PA team who provides the installation, maintenance, and repairing services of all electrical devices as well as of heaters and AC too. You can contact them or else can also go by contacting the known person who have knowledge about the water heater repair.

Same problem with mine when new. Took it in and they found out that it was not properly wired/connected to run on electric. Don't know what they did but it took them longer to drive it around to the bay than thew time it was in there. I think the wires were not attached from Thor.

I know this is an old thread but the answer to your question is that the hot water heater is lit by an electric element and once lit the gas heats up the water. If the electric element doesn't have power it won't light the gas to heat the water

Could this have been a "turn on the USE/STORE switch?

Just like the furnace...you need 12v to operate the gas valve, igniter etc.
The 110v option is separately wired. Each should work with or without the other.
