Class c wing walls rotted

Hi (wing walls = side walls behind the cab)
Wondering whether anyone else is having a problem with the class c wing walls rotting? Our 2017 quantum has experienced the lower 14 inches of each wing wall is rotted due to water migration. I crawled under the unit and found that Thor did not put the edging on the vertical internal edge of the wall. Therefore driving down the road the water was thrown up on this edge and eventually rotted it. I am waiting for Thor’s response as to whether they will help cover this. I have little hope they will. Has anyone replaced these ? Seems like a big job.

I’m sorry you have this problem. I don’t have a class C so can’t actually offer any useful advice. Although I’ll note that it comes up a lot here and the repairs have been pretty well articulated. I gather it’s not entirely dreadful although I’ve never studied up on it since I’ve got my own problems and don’t need to learn how to solve the ones I don’t have. I’ll be surprised if Thor jumps on it but stranger things have happened. Good luck.

Search on “wing wall” and you will find a few threads on the issue. I had to have mine replaced. The dealer said it was a factory problem and Thor took care of. I have a 2017 and it was relayed to me that some coaches came off the line without the bottom trim.

I had both sides rotted on my 2018 Class C after about a year and a half. Both had to be replaced. No quality control during the build process. It's just one of many things with my POS. Good luck with Thor.

i am currently involved in a Small Claims suit against Thor for the rotted wing walls. My walls had so much rot and mildew along with all the roaches. They know they have this problem and have done everything to get out of paying for repairs. I am determined to not let them get away with this.

We are the 2nd owners of a 2017 Chateau 23U and Thor (at the factory) replaced the wing walls at no charge, last November.

As you may see from my thread in this category titled "Wing Wall Woes" I have since had some other issues and problems.

However, Thor did stand behind the product by replacing the rotted wing walls.

I have no idea if they would cover this repair at a facility other than Wakarusa.

Hi
Having some technical glitches so if i already replied ignore this. I wish you the best in getting thor to fix the wall issue. The best i could do was to get them to send me the materials, but they refused to pay the labor to fix it. So i have them just havent paid the piper or dealer the 3500 to install them. Add that issue to the fake leather stuff flaking off all the seats, sofa and surface, another 3500 or so to fix. Needless to say but last thor i will buy. By the time i am done will be close to 10 grand to get this one sellable. Unbelieveable really. Thors philosophy. “ just get it to end of warranty” everything is fine Btw how did you get around there little “all arbitration or legal disputes must be in Indiana “ clause “ ( i am paraphrasing cant remember the exact wording) i think they also have a clause in the purchase agreement that forces arbitration,. Anyway wish you the best and hope you are successful. Ken

Yup, I'm experiencing the same thing with my 2018 Chateau 31W.
