Cleaning MH Roof
I'm always surprised at how much dirt and bird droppings and other stuff accumulates on the roof of our 2013 Four Winds 31F motor home. I've tried several products specifically made for cleaning RV roofs, but they didn't work as well as I wished.
Then I remembered what Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner did for our 10 year old Coleman pop-up camper: It left it looking like new and completely erased all traces of mildew stains on all surfaces.
So I tried it today on our RV and was once again impressed. The roof looks like new. No scrubbing.
Thought you might want to know.

p.s. The product says it is safe for vinyl

Thanks for the tip!
I looked it up, it's Water/Sodium Hypochlorite, which is "bleach"
the TDS and MSDS doesn't tell, but my guess would be it has some sort of soap in it too, which probably helps
according to my lookup, bleach in solutions less than 20% carry a B rating for EPDM, which is likely fine.... and an A rating with TPO.
Just make sure you rinsed it really well at any metal contact

I thought I'd post some recent pictures of how this product (Olympic Deck Cleaner) performs against Jomax and Krud Cutter. I have no financial or other interest in any of these companies and do not guarantee that the products will work for you as they have for me; nor that any of these products might cause permanent damage. In other words just let the pictures speak for themselves and read the labels thoroughly before using! BTW, the item being cleaned is a fiberglass car top carrier that is a bazillion years old...

How about the dicor sealant? I have used bleach myself to get rid of the mildew, but not sure how it affects the sealant itself.

wow, that stuff did a nice job!
How much elbow grease was involved?
or was it just a spray on, soak, and rinse?

Sealant on roof
I bought my Thor Palazzo in August 2014 and noticed a few weeks ago the sealant on the roof is deteriorating. It is stored in a covered area most of the time when I am not using it. My RV is still under warranty for another 4 months, but Thor has told me they do not warranty the sealant on the roof. Has anyone dealt with this situation? I just expected the sealant to last at least the first year.

Maintaining the sealant is a maintenance issue, however it should certainly last the first season. Thor perhaps used old stuff, or let it freeze, or any other combination of what stupid stuff they usually do.

I can imagine them applying it to a dusty surface, that might be typical in a workshop where there's lots of cutting and assembly going on.
But I'll offer counter point to this.... When I bought mine it was approx 12-13 months old but still "brand new". I had some suspect caulk that the dealer touched up. Unfortunately what that means is slop some more on top of the old...
Anyway, It can be that it sat on a lot a good long while so your first season might be eating well into its second year.

I now wished I had climbed up on the roof before I bought my RV. I just thought buying new meant new. Learned a good lesson.

It is just spray on, soak, and rinse. A pretty amazing product IMO! It seems to work much better than just plain bleach or any other product that I can find.
