The "Beast" is getting a detailing

Well, due to the harsh winter and spring weather and the condition of the coach as a result I decided to spring for a mobile detailing service to get my rig clean for the upcoming season.

After showing up and looking over the coach we decided on a three step process which is wash, clean and polish, and last carnauba wax. We estimate it taking him 2 and a half days to complete the project. The final phase will be a complete wipe down of the entire coach on the last visit. The final completion will be Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

Day 1 (yesterday). First he washed the top, rear cap and driver's side of the coach.

He completed the rear cap, and one third of the driver's side using Marine 31 cleaner and polish (using a buffer) and a coat of Pinnacle carnauba wax (applied and removed by hand).

Rear cap complete

On the rear cap he took a plastic blade and carefully removed all traces of glue/sticky tape seepage from around the Challenger lettering. This alone took him close to an hour.

More to follow.

Wow! I just washed my roof and it still doesn't look anything near as clean as yours--that looks like new (and no footprints!).

I think I'd run up there while its clean and put some extra sealer around, but then that would take some time to dry/cure and, in my case, I'd leave all kinds of footprints LOL.

Being a Virginia resident myself, do mind if I ask who you are using for the work?

I had the roof inspected and resealed around AC and vents when it was at the dealer for the annual in February. No need for unnecessary footprints at this time.

The detailer is finishing up today and over the course of three days has tried a couple of different products on different problem areas. Rather than the final coat being Pinnacle it is going to be Mckees RV wax.

One thing he is doing is on the windows he is using the following

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7T3D99...I2PYI3RPEG2M34

The stuff is working very well for the black streaks that occur on the glass. I looked at the bottle and it says it removes black streaks from the side of RVs so I had to try a test spot. It worked with very little effort and even though it is abrasive there was no apparent scratching of the paint. It would require a follow-up with polish and wax, but it is another product to help remove black streaks.

I purchased a CR Spotless for washing our Challenger at home. A little pricey but WOW worth every penny when I dont have to dry it by hand.

The detailing of the beast is complete. After trying the Mckees RV wax I decided, and the detailer agreed, we did not like the end result. No matter how had he tried the Mckees left a haze and dulled the results of the polish that was used. I had the detailer go back to using the Pinnacle which left no haze and did not dull the brilliance of the polish.

The best results were achieved when using Mezerna Polish (PO91E) and Pinnacle Carnuba Wax. The polish was put on with a buffer and removed by hand. The wax was applied and removed by hand.

Right after we classified the effort finished, before he had his stuff loaded in his van, the clouds opened up and it rained.

That looks outstanding....You have full body paint too dont you?

I love full body painted RV's. They look much better in the long run and have a great shine.
