Does the Axis have a coat of clear coat on it? HD Max is a color tinted gel coat and I do not believe Thor sprays clear over that. Now, I could be wrong on that.

I too could be wrong but I believe that only coaches with full body paint are clear coated. And not all of the FBP coaches are. Often you can tell by examining the transition between colors or decals. It there is a clear, sharp transition it’s probably not clear coated. If it’s a softer or smoother transition - or if you can’t even feel the transition at all - it probably is. I wouldn’t hazard a guess what it would cost to do!

I thought I read somewhere it was about $10k, though that may have included a FDP. I just remember shaking my head and thinking 'not this kid'.

Nursx2 did a FBP on his Hurricane/Windsport.
Here's the thread link.

Update: we went with a ceramic coating and it’s much better now.

I’ve been using Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray on my Magnitude. Easy to apply and gives it a nice shine as well as makes the surface pretty slick.

ZEP Floor Polish
Works great on the fiberglass, just like a clearcoat
I keep my RV parked under cover when not on the road so that it stays out of the hot sun.
The fiberglass caps look brand new.

I'm in the process of having my rig ceramic coated. Having a professional due it. I'm hoping this helps with the SunBurn I'm experiencing in the Southern Nevada Heat and Sun...

Bob, I put this on the front end cap with hand sponge and with one coat it looked great. On the other hand, I used a sponge mop to do the rear and sides and with one coat there are a lot of streaks, and some drips visible. How many coats do you put on and what do you apply it with? I am hoping an additional coat or two may give some improvement.

Here’s the method I discovered on-line from other users
1) Wash and dry area
2) With a “Mr Clean buffing sponge (Walmart has a cheaper Great Value brand) scrub down the area. Use the sponge dry, not wet.
3) It will slightly dull the surface area, don’t worry
4) With a spray bottle ($1 at Walmart or Dollar Tree), fill the ZEP Floor Polish into bottle
5) Micro Fibre cloths work best. Spray polish onto the Micro Fibre
Then wipe and shine, let dry...wipe and shine.
I put 3-4 coats on it
If your rig sits in the sun 24/7, you’ll need to re-apply more often (4-6 months)
If the shine flakes a bit from the sun, use the MrClean sponge
Then wipe & shine
If you want to use the spray bottle again suggest you pour remains back into gallon container then wash out bottle thoroughly with water, especially the spray head as it gets clogged once it drys
I’m really happy with the results. I even put some on the stripes & it seems to help.

We just bought a 2015 Chateau. I've been going over it with a buffer and polishing compound. I follow that up with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax.

I didn't use Zep, but a different brand acrylic floor polish...same thing.
My rig was faded fairly badly and the end result was quite jaw dropping. Amazing really. It looked really great for i'd guess about 6 months....after about a year it was almost back to 'normal'. I'd always intended to followup with maintenance coats but never got around to it....yet anyway...although mine is probably too far gone now.
A few more light coats will likely take care of those streaks, mcpandt. I want to say I did about 4-5 coats...it's been a few years. My prep was a bit more aggressive....scrub with barkeeper's friend followed by a good wash using TSP...then wiped on the floor polish with a rag dampened with the stuff.
More recently I tried Penetrol from the paint store. I'd read it was good for faded glass. It did look almost as good but didn't last as long.

Bob, I just want to take a minute to say thanks on the Zep polish tip. I got the second coat applied with microfiber and the coach looks great. Best that it has since we bought it last year. I also noticed that the bugs come off the front much easier as well. Hope this lasts a while.

I was very impressed by the Zep. I could use another coat, maybe this weekend, but it looks so much better. Also we had a long scratch from a tree branch, probably 10 feet long, just under the awning and after two coats I couldn't even find it. It also restored the fading on the decals.

Like I said...
You need to stay on it if parked in hot sun for weeks at a time
Use your special sponge to clean off any flaking, dust off, then reapply ZEP with the microfibre towel
I get lots of comments that my “new” RV looks so shiny.
“What year is that?”
