Closet mirror broke

Went on short outing 110miles last week, got setup at cg only to see the mirror broke, solid horizontal line side to side on one of the two closet doors. Didn't drive on any rough or hit any bumps, don't when it happened. Anyone else ever have this? Is there anything special about the mirror glass to replace? I doubt that this is covered by Thor warranty? Any help is always appreciated.

Funny, (not really), just went through this last week. Only it was all my fault. I thought I could slide myself between the bed and closets in our Aria to get to something in the back bathroom. Too lazy to put out the slide or just crawl over the bed. Anyway, I hit the mirror with my butt and broke it. Called a couple local glass places with the dimensions, in our case 48.25 X 19.5 by 1/8" thick, and had a mirror in a couple of hours for just under $60. Carefully peeled the old mirror off the backing, put new mirror on backing, let dry overnight and installed the next morning.

How is mirror on?

Not held in place by anything except a glue-like backing?

It was held onto a luan panel with clear silicone. The mirror and panel were held into the door with mirror clamps.

I'm going to be removing my closet mirrors - too much to keep clean, and way to heavy for the cheap hinges on them. Will that silicone damage the paint under the mirrors if I take them off?
