Co-Pilot window shatters

I have read a number of posts about these front side windows. Only the bottom section shattered.
I did a thick Plexi for a while.

I got the expected runaround from Thor Parts, which took ten days to send me to a Thor dealer, which, very unfortunately, was Camping World. $600 for the window, minimum 6 week lead time, plus the cost of install.
Called a mobile auto glass guy in SC. He will cut the two pieces at his place and install- total is under $300.

I’m glad you got it solved. FYI - In the future, telling us a year, make, and model will help. I currently have no idea what coach window you’re talking about.

Welcome to the forum. You did not get a runaround from Thor Parts. Thor does not sell parts to owners. All Thor parts must be ordered by a dealer.

I had my windows armor film coated just yesterday.
A drunk winged a bottle at our windshield in shiprock az while we were driving. He missed the windshield but if he had hit that side window it would have been much worse due to shattering.

I suggest clear armor tint(or whatever it's called) for any shatterable window.

Not necessarily true. I called Thor to get a part number for my skylight, so I could find one two months ago. He looked it up and said he could order one from the manufacturer or see if he could take one off the line. I was out of warranty at the time. Got it in less than than two weeks.
He said as long as they are still making the coach, I could order from them.

You got lucky. They are not licensed for retail sales or collection of state sales taxes.

I will look into this asap. I spend the spring/summer on steep, curvy Forest Service roads in the high mountains of NC...sometimes they put down railroad gravel- huge chunks.

If you live in SC, you have glass coverage for your rig. My windshield got hit by a stone and my insurance covered it 100%.

Thanks for the post.
I am from MT, but even then, it was a side window, not the windshield.
The side "co-pilot" window is now windshield glass- so no shattering. ( It can, of course, crack.) The view is so much clearer- beautiful, and the right price, and 2-3 hours!
