Coach Battery series/parallel

I have a 2014 Thor Challenger 37GT without ANY solar system. I am planning to install a 3-panel 450w system and only have two new 6v deep cycle RV lead acid batteries installed at this time. I have two new 12v RV Deep cycle batteries which were purchased with the intention of using them in a series/parallel configuration with the 6v batteries. Has anyone done this and are there any compelling reasons to avoid doing so? I am fully capable of wiring them up properly but wonder about it’s functionality and safety and capability. Any ideas?

I believe the issue is mostly in regards to mixing batteries of different age or type, in that the weaker (older) battery may limit the potential of the entire battery bank in the same way that solar panels need to be the same size, type and age as the one with the least Open Circuit Current or Voltage will limit the entire string to that Current or Voltage.

I have a 37gt also. How are you planning to run the wires from the panels to the batteries.

Not really sure yet. I have the fiberglass roof. I will probably utilize the satellite cable penetration

Did you end up running the wires. I'm going to try to do mine in the spring and have the same unit as you
