Coleman Air Conditioner

My wife and I are nearing the completion of a 30+ day trip in our 2017 Challenger. Throughout the trip, the rear air conditioner (a Coleman Mach 3 - 13.5 K btu) seemed like it was making a lot more noise than the front unit, and would also make a knocking noise for several seconds when it shut off. Well, today it quit working completely. I will be looking to get a replacement when we get home tomorrow.

I was thinking that it might be worthwhile to upgrade to a 15 k btu unit as a replacement. But, unsure how it would fit with the existing hole and ducting, and whether it might trip my breakers with higher electrical requirement. Has anyone ever tried this or have any info on the compatibility of the 15 k unit? Thanks in advance.

Physically they are the same size for installation and seeing as you probably have a 50 amp rig if you have two air conditioners the difference in amp draw should not affect anything either.

I have a 28 foot freedom elite. Replaced my 13500 btu with a 15000 btu. Same hole same ducting. The only thing was the 15000 also has a heat exchanger so they had to do some new wiring for a new thermostat.
