Cooked wires
19 Outlaw 37RB Possibly related to the broken exhaust hanger in a previous post. Right next to the broken hanger is a group of wires, very light gauge and appear to have been a shielded cable broken and possibly melted. The cable runs from side to side just in front of the rear tires. Except for the inside step everything seems to work. These wire are way to light to carry enough power to operate the step, and I think I found the bad wire for that also. Its prewired for solar and I think that may be what they are for. What I want to know is, are there any electrical schematics available that would show the routing, color and gauge of the wiring. Also, anyone have any experience splicing shielded cables exposed to the weather?. I also found a 4 wire dangler that doesn't seem to have another half, Its just hanging out in the open with exposed ends. For now, Im just going to check that one for power and seal the end.

I accidentally cut a shielded cable that looked similar during my lithium upgrade... I can't remember what it was to though. It was a pain with VERY thin fragile wires.
I think there was 5 or 6 wires. It took me over two hours to carefully strip, solder and heat shrink each individual wire. Then I wrapped aluminum foil around the group of wires for shielding...then used a larger weather proof heat shrink tube for the whole thing.
Hopefully you can find the other end! I'll post what the wire I cut was if I remember what it was to...

The schematics I got from Thor (check out the Thor Owners Resource Page) were more of a general indication of where things might be located. Helpful but not what you are seeking.

Mostly, but they are way too small to carry enough power to operate incandescent lighting circuits. They look to be about the same size wire as you'd see in ethernet or landline phone cable.

Yes, everything in the back works. I did have a corroded wire in the left rear wheelwell, that prevented the interior garage step from workin, since repaired, as well.

The yellow, green, red & white wires look like low DC voltage signal wires. How about your waste and freshwater tank level indicators... or propane level indicator? Are they working?

That's an excellent question. Ill check them.Unfortunately I just drained everything. Its low voltage stuff for sure, all shielded.I think theirs 3 or 4 pairs, with ground or shielding wire, not sure which, wrapped in what looks to be kapton.all sheathed an an aluminum? braid.
