Exclamation Cracked wheel rim at welding joint

We have a 24’ Thor FourWinds on a 2017 Mercedes chassis. A year ago one of our back dually tires was discovered to have a cracked wheel rim at a welding joint….Mercedes replaced the rim under warranty. Just now on a cross country trip a different, but still back dually tire started to go flat and it was discovered that this tire now also has a cracked rim at a welding joint. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it normal to have welded joints in wheel rims? Do we need to just replace all our wheel rims with different wheel rims?

Yes, but it is extremely unusual to have those welds crack. I would:
Weigh your rig to see if you are overloaded. If not:
Notify Mercedes customer support and see what response they have - it may be covered by a tech bulletin or recall.
File a report with the NTSB if no recall covers it. Maintain any and all records/documentation of the problem and any corrective action you take to resolve it.

I have a 2008 Siesta 24 SA on a Sprinter chassis with 55000 miles and have never had a rim problem with my steel rims. They must have had a bad run when your coach was built.
