Decals maintenance

What do you use to revive faded decals?
303 protectant works ok but is there something better?

Sorry to say, but once vinyl decals crack and fade, not much is going to revive them. Hindsight... keeping a UV protectant coating on them BEFORE they degrade is key.

Two realistic choices: Find a company which does vinyl wraps, or strip the old ones off and get full body paint. Obviously neither option is cheap... usually not feasible on an older motorhome.

HOWEVER... there are some "elbow grease" options if you're game...

Search YouTube for "paint RV decals" and you'll get some ideas.

I've seen some youtube videos where folks have stripped the decals off and masked, then painted permanent replacements. One video I watched, the guy used rust-oleum spray cans in colors that closely resembled the originals. The coach was over 10 years old and his work was a definite improvement. Actually, the coach looked great.

If decals are faded today, tomorrow they may be cracked if you don't take action soon. So I would stay at it...

I have been using 303 for 5 years since Day 1, no intentional wax on decals, and so far so good. I am expecting to see some fading soon ( 6 or 7 years?). I don't have a confirmed 1st hand recommendation for you, but I might try this https://www.amazon.com/McKees-37-Mar...UQAvD_BwE&th=1

If you do try it, and it works... ping me for my address so you can have a bottle shipped to me as good gesture

Good luck

Better keep up with the 303... Max's product got less than stellar reviews on Amazon. Probably a silicone product - looks shiny for awhile...

I know DK hasn't come over to "the dark side" yet, but I started using RejeX on the entire RV... gelcoat, decals and cab. I still use 303 on tires, slide and window seals... about anything rubber. The RejeX has fared excellent over the winter.

Blocking UV radiation is key to preventing deterioration of vinyl decals and oxidation of fiberglass gelcoat. My whole rig including decals still looks like new... 4 years and counting.
