Grey tank odor
Our rig is a 2015 Hurricane 31s with the out side sink and refer. We are getting a foul odor in the bedroom after using the shower or putting any larger Amount of water in to the grey tank. The outside sink uses a waterless trap and a macerater pump to pump the water out as it is lower than the shower drain. I discovered that the trap was torn so I replaced it, did not solve the problem. There is a vent to the roof and behind the bedroom wall something that looks like a pressure relief. Not sure how that works so any advice is surely welcomed.

I always add liquid chemical to my grey tank as well as the black. Things build up in there just as well, like food scraps and stuff.

I have done that but it just covers up the problem but does not fix it. I would really like to find where the smell is coming from

I had a similar issue. The tech at Wakarusa adjusted some type of vent under the sink in the half bath and the odor went away. Seemed to be stronger just after dumping tanks. Someone here probably knows more about what that vent is and how it works.

Probably a vacuum breaker. Keeps the water in the trap from being sucked out.

In my Miramar I found the vent in the wall to be the problem. Actually it was the stand pipe for the washer drain (which I don't have). It didn't have have a cap of any kind on it and when traveling with any gray water in the tank it would vent back up through that pipe. It was threaded so I installed a threaded one way vent cap... Problem solved. I initially just covered it with duct tape for several days to make sure that was the problem before buying the new cap.

I pretty sure I know where that is, I am on the road now and will investigate when I get home. Any other input is greatly appreciated

All vents black and gray have air admittance valves. Look under the sinks you will see them screwed to the top of a pipe. Sometimes you have to reach your hand in and follow the pipe up to the top. I had one not screwed in tight. Gave it a few turns smell gone. Had one go bad during a 3000 mile trip. Stop at Home Depot bought a new one smell gone They cost $6-$8 Easy couple minute fix Good luck
It will look something like this

I had found that both my air admittance valves were loose from the factory (kitchen and bath sinks)
While I was at it, I found that one wasn't really sealing well. I removed it (stuffing a rag in the pipe temporarily to keep the small at bay) and turned it upside down, put a little water in it. It didn't hold. I figure if it's not liquid bubble tight it sure isn't going to seal gas.
I was on a road trip so googled the closest hardware store. Went to lowes and had them both replaced in just a few minutes! Replaced them both even though only one was leaking... I just didn't want to deal with that smell again...happy wife, and all of that!
The store I went to had the oatey that halfprice linked to, but also another one...a Studor I think it was. It was more expensive... a lot more expensive as a percentage...but not really big money. I went with the idea you get what you pay for...maybe stupid...I just don't know what the difference really is.

I checked both one way valves today, they were tight and seem not to be leaking. When I get home I will just replace them both. If that does not work then I can only think cracked pipe or glue joint. That would really suck

Do you add water to the sink and shower drain traps after traveling? They can go dry on hard cornering and bumps in the road.

As I mentioned concerning my Miramar, do you have washer/dryer hook ups in your closet behind the wall? If so check to see if the stand pipe for the washer drain is capped off.

That’s a negative on the washer/dryer, all the grey plumbing runs on the right side of the coach only 2 one way vents and one roof vent, at least according to the Thor schematic

Yeah. I don't have a washer/dryer so I just capped it off. I also removed the vent cap on the roof and found a gap between the outer pipe and the inner vent pipe. I caulked filling that gap and reinstalled the vent cap. On occasion, if the wind was blowing just right over the top of the RV, I would get odors in the bathroom. Took me a year and a phone call to Thor support to figure that one out, but it solved the problems. With the stand pipe capped in the wall behind the closet and the caulking done around the vent pipe on the roof, I am now odor free!

My DW & I really like what this guy has to say about keeping both black & gray tanks smelling good and gauges working. He does mis-speak about the "BORAX" though. He keeps calling it Boraxo, that one has the soap added. You can see in the video that the box is always Borax.
