In the top picture is the "catch" for that type latch. GENTLY take a screwdriver and pry it open. LOOK at a different functioning drawer catch to see what it should look like when in the open and unlatched position. It may be just a one time thing that the catch got pushed in to the closed position, or the latch may need adjusting.

After adjusting then replacing a few drawer catches I ended up installing magnets to hold drawers closed.

Get used to it.... they fail often.

I carry a bag of spares....

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I may replace them all with self closing and locking drawer slides.

Sometimes the latch gets stuck in and you can pry it back out with a small screwdriver.... but it will happen again.

On my Axis, the catch for the silverware drawer wasn't tight and eventually stopped working. Turns out it was screwed into a block of wood that was stapled to the frame. Those staples worked their way out with all the drawer use and the 2 parts were just too far apart to snap shut. I screwed the block to the frame and solved the problem.

I want to emphasize gently prying that catch lever. I broke one on a wardrobe drawer trying to reset it. Luckily I already had a pack of replacements from Amazon noted earlier.

As chunker21 stated, open the catch. Happened a million times on the Challenger. The only one that ever broke was when someone tried forcing the drawer closed when the catch was already closed.

They are an easy replacement. I too carry several onboard with me. I had to replace one on my 2018 Thor Siesta.

If it is snapped in, it does not need to be replaced. Get a screwdriver and pry the latch out and it should work. I’ve had this happen several times.

I have done this a number of times too, but it seems like shortly after that the latch breaks. My Chateau is 3.5 years old and I have had to replace most of the drawer latches at this point.

Those latches are plastic and plastic breaks especially if not used correctly. They need to be adjusted so that the hook portion smoothly contacts and pushes in the latch portion. When opening, the push portion should pull out the latch section. enough that it stays there, doesn't flop back in. The latches should be adjusted, maybe shimming necessary, so when opening or closing. the correct parts of the latch make contact. They are not "slam latches" as that breaks them.

My 2007 Itasca Horizon had several of them on various drawers and they were functioning fine last year when I traded it in. A heavy pots/pans drawer needed supplemental hooks to stay closed while traveling.

It seems like most of the RV companies use the lightest most inexpensive plastics on their motor homes. They also ROT with age. Always keep a couple handy to replace.

I have two drawers, I removed the drawers and when I put the first one in it wouldn't latch so I thought the latch must be closed so I pushed it and it closed. I popped it open and the same thing wouldn't latch. I laid down and noticed the two parts weren't even close to lining up. Thor put the catch wherever they felt like on each drawer. I removed the drawer and put in the other drawer and it works perfect. It's all about time not quality when they build these

A few of our drawer latches failed. I found these on Amazon, easy to install and holds very well! They matched the dark brown as well.

Marine Door Catch

For my more heavy loaded drawers, I found some marine cabinet / drawer catches. Some are made of brass and hold much better compared to the cheap ones installed on many RV's.

In amazon - search for...

marine drawer latches and catches

The ones I landed on way made by JQK Hardware
Part Number ‎HBC200-P4

They were reasonably priced. There are of course a few brands / offerings to choose from

I replaced my broken latch and then installed some more on other heavier loaded drawers in addition to the factory latch already installed.

Best not to overload drawers but sometimes those cheap latches just do not do the job. Good Luck
