Drop down bed magnets

Has anyone had any issues with the magnets that hold the drop down bed in an A.C.E. ? Everytime I hit a bump, even the slightest bump, my drop down bed falls off the magnets.

Hi, no issues with my 2013 ACE 30.1, but we do not use the drop down bed very often. Most regular magnets do not like physical abuse (being banged) as it tends to weaken their domain structure......not sure what type of magnets these are. The other thing would be if the mattress has been changed to something thicker or perhaps thicker bed linens etc forcing the bed frame away from the ceiling more than just a bare mattress. Is the bed falling even with the original bare mattress?

One of our magnets holds well. On closer inspection of the other it’s apparent it was put on in the wrong position. Only 1/2 of the magnet contacts the steel plate. But only over big bumps does it detach. Only drops an inch or so so we’re not going to mess with it.

In our 2018 ACE 30.4, the magnets on the left (driver) side were installed about 2” forward of the metal plate on the bed frame, far enough that the metal plat did not contact them when in the up position. I moved the magnets to the correct position and that fixed it.

To move the magnets, you need to pry the magnet away from the ceiling with a pick or screwdriver to access the mounting screw.

Good luck!
