Waiting for a tow truck to take it to the Freightliner dealer for repair. Getting a hotel room this time.

Good luck and hopefully they will locate the real issue and have you back on the road quickly.

I don't blame you for getting a hotel room... hopefully they diagnose it properly and get it resolved this time around.

Cornerstone is Spartan and not Freightliner if I am not mistaken.

That is correct and they are having a terrible time with the DEF heads, worse than Freightliner

That is one large tow truck. Looks like they must lift from under front axle, is that right?

Dave, I’m also curious if they had to disconnect driveshaft in order to tow with rear wheels on ground?

Hope it is fixed soon.

Wow. I am late, but wishing you well. You seem so calm. I didn't realize how big that rig of your really was until seeing next to that tow truck.

Good luck

Chance. Yes on both parts. They connect under the front axle. They have adapters of different sizes and shapes to lift from the axle.

Drive shaft had to be disconnected at the differential. Tow truck can disconnect the drive shaft but they are not allowed to reconnect it at the service center. A mechanic must reconnect the drive shaft.

Calm: I had to convince Kathy that this is all part of the adventure. Calm on the surface but PO'd that they didn't find the root problem in Sioux Falls and we only made about 400 miles before this incident.

We are lucky we found a hotel that allows us to have our 3 cats and 60 pound dog in the room with us and that it made it to the campground before going into 5MPH derate.

We'll see how calm remain I am in the next few days.

One highlight to this situation. The dealer is running a special on a full Freightliner service for 299.00. Normally the service runs between 600.00 to 800.00 depending on dealer. Thats a full 15K service to include LOF, replace the fuel filters , pressure testing the radiator, hoses and cap, and a multitude of other inspections and checks.

Freightliner dealer claims the problem this time is loose pins in a fuse box causing the coolant sensor to provide intermittent false readings.

Sounds strange to me but I have no idea how these after treatment systems are wired or operate.

I hope that's it..... seems like they are grasping at straws and chasing their tails on this one. Intermittent electrical issues are tough to chase down sometimes.

I hope it really is the root cause and they get it fixed. At least it sounds like they jumped on it right after the tow dropped it off.
