Automotive Electrical Issues

I have a 2016 Vegas, pretty much stock.

I know that I’ve seen this issue posted before my searches haven’t found what I’m looking for. I have power in the house but no automotive electrical at all. Not even an echo of a click when I turn the ignition. I’ve tried the Emergency Start button and it does nothing either. I’ve tried jumping the auto battery and that doesn’t produce any response. If some one can point me to the previous posts on this I’d be grateful.

Did you remove the battery cables on the chassis, check for corrosion and re-install? Usually something will come on, even if the battery is real weak. With nothing at all, it sounds like a battery cable or a chassis ground connection.

Did you check the breaker near the battery? (I believe there is a breaker near the chassis battery..)

Do you have a voltmeter to check the chassis battery? (If its fully charged you have a wiring problem, if it isn't you have a battery problem.)

yep, you've lost your 'connection' to your battery(s)... could be a simple GROUND issues, a wire at the battery(s) is loose, or it's ground to the chassis.

Jamie, I know I’ve seen the exact problem posted two or three times here but I’m not finding it when I do a search. I think it’s a fuse or breaker that’s in the box in the compartment under the driver’s seat. Does that ring a bell?

The RV Custom Products board? (big black box in the outside compartment under the driver's seat) That does contain the solenoids used to switch use/store and the emergency start switch. Not sure that is the source of your problems, however, since everything dying wouldn't be one fuse but more like the connection to the battery itself (e.g. the 100amp breaker or a wire coming loose).

There is two--I think. I know there is one off the coach battery under the step, but there should be another one near the chassis battery under the "hood".

I had the same problem with mu 2015 last year. Checked all the fuses per recommendations on this board to no avail.

Contacted RV Custom Producs (board manufacturer). They sent me a diagram of the fuse layout for the board in the outside compartment under the driver's seat. It was different than what was on the inside of the board's lid. Showed a House Fuse Panel 50A Man Reset on the left side of the board under the F43 3A fuse.

They had drawn an arrow to this item and in big letters wrote PUSH THIS BUTTON; meaning the button on the side.

Did as told and had "juice" back in the Vegas.

Problem Solved

The auto battery was putting out .5 volts. We unhooked a couple of hoses so we could get a good grip on the negative battery post and then left jumper cables hooked up for about 45 minutes. That and the Emergency Start switch got the engine running.

I drove to our destination, about an hour and left the engine running an additional 30-45 minutes. In a couple of days I’ll take the Vegas in to a local ship and have the battery replaced.

Thanks to everyone who offered advise.
