E450 doghouse and floor heat

Hi all
Hoping for a remedy for excessive heat coming from the passenger side of the floor and the doghouse.
Thank you.

This subject has been talked about plenty. Do a serch and you will find several threads related to this.

IMO its best to use two layers to maximize heat and sound rejection.

Start out with the Dynomat Extreame (or one of its competitors) then top it off with something like Fat Mat (3/4 inch thick) foam insulation.

It did wonders for my Axis. Apply under the dog house and either under your carpet inside and or under the floor boards / on the fire wall.

But it might be hard to use the 3/4 inch thick one under your carpets so I would double up with the dynomat stuff.

Did you buy it new or used? If used, previous owner may have removed doghouse and not got it exactly back in the tracks with seals lined up correctly, causing heat to "leak out" in this area...especially since it's mostly on just one side. The general heat issues associated with the mods folks have done are the entire doghouse, etc. Remove doghouse and reinstall...it's worth a try and could save unnecessary spending.

I agree 100% with this since it doesn’t cost anything. I had similar problem with rented E-450 and the difference once reinstalled correctly was incredible. Worth inspecting even if new. At highway speed we could feel hot air coming through to passenger’s left foot area. And noise on uphills was horrendous.
