Electric Power Washer for RV

There's probably a thread about this buried in the archives, but I couldn't find it.

I'm looking for an affordable electric pressure washer with a foamer attachment for RV washing. Any tips on a pole/brush/mop (and technique) to use with this is appreciated!

There's a TON of these on Amazon... it's always nice to get suggestions from real world experience!

I have never had luck with one.
I've had 4 of them, all different, none worked more than 10 times. There are three broken ones here. I always threaten to remove the motors for other projects...but haven't.
Harbor freight with the purchase of the extended warranty makes for an easy return/exchange.
I have never had a harbor freight unit.

I like my ryobi 18v pressure washer.
It only makes about 400psi but it will suck from a bucket or it has a hose attachment AND a 2 liter pop bottle attachment. It is small and can go with you in the motorhome. Perfect pressure for not ripping off decals.
Easy to take on the roof,. No hose, no electric cord, no length restrictions.

For the Record

I have a Stanley 2150 Max, it came with the Foamer and all of the attachments.

NOTE: I do not use the Pressure washer to wash & rinse my RV Only for the Foaming, I use my regular water hose nozzle at Jet setting. If you have dirts that require a high pressure hose you have another problem, or you are being overly aggressive and could damage decals or cause leaks on the roof. For sure if you know what you are doing you may rinse with the pressure washer as long as you keep sprayer from getting too close.

My guess is my Stanley 2150 ( actual working psi is 1700) is 4 to 5 years old? I have used it heavy duty with no issues, blasting concrete with cleaners, used to clean fence before staining which was very difficult job, I have used to clean railroad ties, windows etc..

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-...clsrc=aw.dsBwE

Also, I bought this item a year ago to just see what it does, I carry it with me in the RV should I wish to wash on the road, if I am lazy; I will use it at home too because it foams and rinses with the same nozzle. I tend to use more of the RV Wash & Wax solution with it because it can't possibly foam as good as my Pressure washer.

https://www.harborfreight.com/9-patt...ser-60773.html

With all of that said, when times comes to replace the Stanley, I will consider the 40V Ryobi Pressure Washer model just to leverage the batteries I already have and to kill the electrical cord hassles.

Update: I don't see a Ryobi model with foamer and nozzles that could use my existing Ryobi 40b batteries. So if I replaced today, I would buy another Stanley 2150, but no need to because my unit is fine.

Volume is important when washing any vehicle and you do not need a pressure greater than 1000 psi. I use the little Harbor Freight Portland electric pressure washer. It only comes with a 20 ft pressure hose, so I bought a compatible 50 ft extension hose, so I could wash the RV's roof. The included low pressure soap dispenser is ok for cars but I use a Chemical Guys soap cannon for the RV. I use the Chemical Guys Extreme body wash & wax, but it will streak the glass if it gets dry before rinsing. I bought the setup 5 years ago and use it monthly on the three cars and Hurricane.

If you only want to use it for 20 or 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a year, Sun Joe is fine.

Yes it has worked, but he wants a foamer. The foamer if used properly makes the job very easy for the RV Brush. And if wax has been maintained you will never never need ANY other cleaning products like bugs or black streak remover.

Everybody is different. I have seem some people garages and figure they must be chemist with all of the stuff they use

When it is nice and cool with no bearing sun, I pressure foam, wait a minute or two and RV brush and rinse with regular water hose / nozzle & pressure. Drying is optional as we have discussed before, but I generally will towel dry at least the glass because it takes what another 10 minutes?

Thanks for all the replies folks! I took the cover off today... getting ready for a nice thorough wash & wax.

In my case I'm looking for a reasonably priced electric unit that has enough pressure/flow to also use for home use... deck/concrete/fence/siding, etc.

I watched a Project Farm video, plus a few others. Seems as though the ultra cheap (sub $100) ones lack things like the nozzle tips and enough oomph for the tougher tasks. I definitely want the excellent foaming action for the RV. I'm curious how much the foaming quality has to do with the wash solution?

My old wash routine mimicked washing a car... even getting up on a ladder with a mitt to get around awning brackets etc. I'd REALLY like to avoid that if possible when washing... I get enough climbing for the wax job!

So, what's a detailed routine for washing? Recommendations for a long handled wash pad... use "RV Wash Wax" in a foamer? How to rinse without spots... de-ionized water necessary? Trying to get a handle on this and get everything ordered and ready for when decent weather hits!

I think I have the waxing down... just trying to streamline an efficient and effective washing routine.

I have a Snap On electric that only gets used a couple times per year for the past 10 or so, not sure if they are still on the market

Serious washing takes a swirling/rotary nozzle and volume which takes a gas machine

However, for an RV you don't want high pressure or high volume

You can use an add on foam cannon with most of the washers

I use a Generac variable psig washer for serious power washing

My Tuscany washing starts with a slow rain and extended brush with soap in the bucket

Then wiped down with my favorite detailer/wax after the rain or back inside the shop

Currently ceramic and yes, it is a Aerospace product
