How to keep water out of bottom bays??

Seals on doors seem to be flexible and you'd think they would seal the doors to keep rain water out, but nope. A few get water in them no matter what. Even tried adding thin strip of foam sealant strips (like you might use for windows) but that just seems to make the doors stick out too much and still not solving the problem (and doesn't look too attractive when the doors are open). Anyone have any luck preventing this? New Gadget? Or some modification? Think the piano hinges aren't the best, but they are welded so not sure how to even change them....

I wound up replacing most of the cargo door seals to keep the water out. The factory seals are not the greatest, and their installation, at least on mine, was far from perfect. Also had to replace and double seal around the door, not so much for water, but because of noise while we were underway. Double seal cut the noise in about half.

THANKS! So has yours stayed dry? Did you just pick up something at your local hardware store, or did you use a particular brand of seal used for rv's that has worked well for you? Already had mold on my back door kitchen, and really don't want mold started in the rv from this (even though most of the bays are surrounded in plastic), so trying to find a remedy quickly.

I used weather seals from the local hardware store for the bay doors. I had the dealer re-seal the entry door, didn't want to tackle that, and it was still under warrantee when I had that done.

I approached this issue a little differently.
I “tweeked” the latches so they pulled the doors tighter to the existing seals.
I also drilled 1/8” holes in the floor of the compartments where water had previously pooled. This allowed any water that may get into the compartment to drain out. I have not noticed any water entering into the compartments through the holes.

thanks for all the tips. I actually did a little of both. Replaced the seals, and then got a rivet gun and added another rivet to the bottom of the piano hinges (they just seemed to have too much play where you could raise and lower the door just a little) This so far has kept the water out a few weeks now.
