Service Engine 25k Miles

I have a 2017 Miramar 37.1 v10 6.8. Today in Fresno Ca at 104 degrees out the engine just hit 25k miles and the check engine light came on.

Thoughts.

Did you just put gas in it?

Stop at most any auto parts store and they'll pull the code for you for free.

Quit guessing and have the codes read.

Take your code scanner and check it, then look it up on the web for possible problems and fixes. Most auto parts stores will check it for free but will not clear the code. My scanner was about 200 but I gave my son a bluetooth one that was around 25 dollars and works with his phone, it even displays real time. The best part is resetting the light when you get done fixing it, better that disconnecting the battery to reset the light. If at anytime the check engine light flashes don't drive it at all or you could damage something immediately.

Thank you

Look around the steering wheel where it goes underneath your dash

The sensor is pretty easy to change, but I wouldn't do it until I saw the live stream data from the engine while running at normal operating temperature.

36 dollars at Rock auto, 42 dollars with 25% off at Advance auto. Easy to change and not much money. NTK oem sensor. o2 sensors get old and don't work as well as new.

While you are at it, be sure to check your vacuum lines for leaks. This was a chronic problem on my former V10.

Thanks. Is the pictures or location where the vacuum hoses are located?

Thanks

There are several vacuum lines associated with the EGR valve at the top rear of the engine. There is another line that runs along the frame too close to the exhaust manifolds. Here is a picture of the EGR valve and sensor block.
