Exhaust Brake Fuse

I have a 2010 Damony Tuscany. Turn the key on to start and nothing happens. The dash states Check Engine Brake Fuse. Where is the Engine Brake Fuse located?

I would call a Freightliner dealer near you or Cummins (assuming you have the Cummins engine) with the original chassis VIN at hand. That would be a specific OEM chassis issue, not modified by an RV builder. Weird that an engine brake fuse would prevent an engine start up, huh?

try the front driver-side storage compartment, which is typically where 'chassis/vehicle' fuses are located - I can imagine that there is a safety override for the Exhaust Brake function if the fuse is not providing continuity(a good fuse). Like an ignition override for your steps, which brings in the steps whenever you turn the key, the Exhaust Brake is a vital safety function for slowing down your rig, so not having the fuse continuity could create the 'non start' override for the engine.

Depending on the year and model the busman box can be found in a small compartment behind the rear passenger duals. Should be about 5A fuse. I have to believe the owners manual electrical section would have your box locations and the fuses labeled?

I don't think there is a fuse for the engine brake itself as that is controlled by the engine ecm, and all a engine brake consists is an actuator that hold the intake and exhaust valves on certain cylinder closed, it would not prevent the engine from cranking however knowing freightliners well enough I would look for the engine ecm fuse which is most likely a in line 10amp fuse at the engines batteries, it will have a eyelet on the positive post and are known to break especially if the post has green corrosion on them, this is assuming the cummins engine and airbrakes?
