Exposed area under my Vegas

When i bought my 2017 Vegas 25.1 last october i observed a missing trim piece under the rear near the hitch. So far the dealer has not been able to get a repair part from Thor.

I took some pictures and not sure the factory could not put it on do to some very sloppy workmanship. One is from the pasenger side where the trim is missing and you will see what appears to be exposed wood from the interior wall. Note the foam overkill and cut back metal that is supposed to cover the wood.

The other picture is from the drivers side and you can see the trim in place. However the workmanship is not great there either.

This area will be subject to a lot of water and I'm afraid water damage will insue.

Better check your rig and see how yours looks.

That is ugly! I have been under my Axis 24.1 numerous times and installed a spare tire in the area in front of the hitch and I have not seen anything like that - but I will look again. You are right, you could have significant water damage if left untreated.

The pictures were taken from underneath looking to the rear. The left picture is showing the passenger side of the coach. The pictures need to be rotated 90 degrees to show it properly (does anyone know if that can be done after posting)

I have found that the easiest way to rotate a picture in the forum (at least from my iPad) is to delete it (if you have already posted it) rotate it 90 degrees in your photo library and then repost it. Maybe someone has a better way? For some reason on my IPad, I can only post one picture at a time.

Perhaps clean that area up and apply some Eternabond tape.

That is not good. I recently spent some time in that area on my 2016 andI have a lot of the foam but the sheet metal appears patent. I did find several areas where wires are exposed to the elements.... needed protection. Also ... the drain rotating in and out sewer section is nice but the fitting that accepts the little cover in the tank drain area was giving me fits all last year. I kept getting gloves ripped and skin lacerated from the tips of the screws that hold the fitting in place while dumping.... Today I gorilla taped some plastic poster board over the screw tips.
