Fault code 45 onan generator

Has anybody had this issue before? It was running totally fine then It shut down and won’t come back on other in the service mode?

Sorry but I don't know how to fix the problem, but this manual may help. It contains the fault codes. Page 56 for code 45 says it is a speed sensor?

I'm not familiar with "service mode", but the fast idle code is displayed due to the generator not properly idling down. It shuts down to protect itself if it doesn't idle down quickly enough after removing a load. Honestly the generator likes to run with a load on it. I have had mine shut down by itself when turning off the AC unit and then flash the fault code. However, I've never had a problem with it restarting.

Hi, this may not apply to your Onan code 45 specifically, but if you scan down the attached hyperlink there is an entry that describes three typical issues that may cause the code 45......of course the described checks/fixes may not apply unless you have the same generator described. Its a start though (no pun intended).
