Flushing tanks

I recently purchased a new Thor Miramar and my flush inlet is connected to the gray tank instead of the black tank
My question is how do I change the connection into the black tank from my gray tank
Is it easy to get to and switch out ?

I doubt it would be easy to access to move the flush and to also put the hole in the grey tank.

You say it is a new Miramar so if it were me I'd take it back to the dealer and have it repaired under warranty and I'd tell them that if it is easier to leave the current one in place and just install a new one in the black tank.

It boggles the mind how an assembly line could make a mistake like that and makes you wonder how many other Thor coaches from that plant have the same mistake.

Whether it's done under warranty or you take it upon yourself to fix it I agree the only correct fix is to just install a new flusher into the black tanks and leave the incorrect one in place.

I Concur.. Nothing wrong (and it may be an advantage) to have a tank flush on both black and the gray tanks...

Thanks for the input
The dealer we purchased the Rv from is a 5 hour drive from our home
We had other minor issues that were corrected on it a few weeks by the dealer
They said that the tank flush was in perfect working condition !!!

My DRV has a black and gray flush. Helps clean out the poop and food debris.

I am confused are you saying the Dealer is saying it is working the way it is supposed to be. I get Dealer is 5 hrs away and you personally may not wish to return if you can do yourself, but seems to me the dealer should take as warranty repair and you can schedule at your convenience or next trip. Something else will occur sooner or later.

My Dealer for new RV was 24 hours aways and Mfg helped us find one that was 1 hr away. It is PIA to take back, but I am making sure I get all warranty items documented and fixed.

FWIW, the model I was looking at did not have a Flush system in either black / gray at the Dealers here locally. One Dealer in Texas said it was not possible to install the San T Flush based on location of tank, but they had some aftermarket they would have installed At fate would be, we found the same coach in Florida that had Sani T Flush from factory already installed Of course there were other advantages, but like you; I really wanted a Sani T Flush system in black tank.

It is not a matter of switching the inlet from one tank to another. If the unit is installed in the wrong tank you will have to drill a hole to install the jet nozzle, you will have to route and install the hose (could be as much as 10 to 12 feet of additional hose requirement) and then you will have to remove the nozzle from the grey tank and plug that hole. There is also the issue of positioning the. nozzle so that it flushes the tank in an effective manner.

If you attempt to do that yourself any tank related warranty claims in the future can be denied if you don't do it in the manner recommended by Thor.

But as I always say, do what your wallet can afford.

In other words what you are saying is that tanks are not predrilled from the tank manufacturer ?
I was hoping they were already predrilled and plugged accordingly

That would be a negative. The only opening in waste tanks from the tank producer is the drain, and sometimes even that is added by Thor.

Ok thank you
I will investigate further to see if I can install one myself and avoid having the expense and time to take it to a dealer to have that done

That should be the easiest one to add a Tornado tank flush to.

Depending on where the black tank is located, it may not be that big a job to just add one to it. I added one to the black tank on the Gemini, believe it or not it did not come with one. Side of the black tank was easily accessible, making the install quite simple.

Yes sir mine is exposed so I beleive doing it myself is the better option than driving Rv to the dealer and having to wait on it for a week or more
I havnt checked pricing or which flush devices are better
Any input ?

Also have miramar bunkhouse model

I also have a miramar 37.1 from thor - lots of problems due to poor manufacturing technique. My water hoses for city water were all messed up and hooked incorrectly. kitchen table pulled out of the wall. batteries died in 1 year. left side of dash board pulled out from wall. Thermostat failed less then a year in use due to loss of 12v power. All that being said I like the vehicle. I have not had an issue with flushing but if you need any pictures of existing installation let me know.
