Freedom Traveler- house and coach are dead
House and coach batteries dead after running refrigerator inverter while on shore power overnight.
Any ideas where and what to check?

BOTH house and chassis battery(s) 'dead'? How did you determine this?
What year/make/model is your RV?
What make/model INVERTER do you have?
Is the fridge the ONLY thing powered by the Inverter?
Are you sure the Shore Power was 'working' all night?

was your CONVERTER(CHARGER) on during this time?
if not, or it's breaker was tripped, your FRIDGE and Inverter would then have been running all night on the batteries alone, as well as anything else you used that are 12v, such as lights and fans, etc.
Remember that for small inverters that are dedicated to 'only' the fridge typically are not wired into your Main panel, so if the CHARGER is not charging the battery bank the whole time the Inverter is on, then the batteries are being drawn down with no charging, even if everything else on 120v power works fine, such as the air conditioner(s), and things plugged into any of your wall outlets.
Why would the Chassis(Vehicle) battery have anything to do with this?

Would the charger be close to the converter?
The chassis battery was dead also- had to charge it to start engine and raise levelers.
External charger is on house batteries now and I will check voltage on each side of battery isolation module- once at full charge.
I guess check the bim while on shore power also

Hi, your converter (120VAC converted to 12vdc) is basically the 12vdc battery charger for both the coach and chassis batteries (in most coaches with appropriate battery control electronics) and since you say you have a BIM then it should control a relay that connects or disconnects the coach and chassis batteries together depending on charging or no charging conditions. It is possible that if the BIM is faulty it may have left the relay connection “on” between coach and chassis batteries (or that relay may be shorted closed), which might account for the discharge of both battery strings overnight........especially if the converter (battery charger) was not on or for some reason is not connecting to the coach batteries to charge like it should. If you have a BIM do you also have separate coach and chassis battery on/off switches near the door of your coach? Even if you only have a use/store switch make sure the coach battery switch (or use/store switch) is “on” so the converter will connect to the batteries. There are other reasons why the converter may not charge batteries also, but when you have fully charged your battery sets (with external charger) then use a voltmeter to ensure they are charging properly from the coach converter on shore power as a minimum.

Thanks,
I am used to the Axis/Vegas, the Hurricane, Windsport, and ACE line ups...this one is additional and does not come up on the ThorMotorCoach website. We are looking for something a little bit bigger than our Vegas 24.1 but under 30ft. Nice to see there is another option.
Thanks again.

Dave,
Thanks.
Kind of wild that Camping World can get an "exclusive" line up from Thor...it would seem that CW could dictate an increased Quality Control from Thor and - conversely - Thor should be able to require better Customer Service from CW in return for the "exclusive" line.

Not that we need another discussion about quality control...
But Damping World would need to clean up it's own act first...
